James Foster, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Theology and Philosophy

Dr. Foster received a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2013 after spending a year as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Among his publications are Thomas Reid and the Defence of Duty (2024) and The Problem of God in Thomas Reid (2025). Today he is the Associate Professor of Philosophy and Theology at the University of Sioux Falls, the director of the USF Honors Program, chair of the Humanities Area, and vicar at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison, SD.
