Her Life Today:

Olsen is one of two producers for KELOLAND This Morning. "As a producer I gather content for the morning news, which includes organizing stories, formatting graphics and camera shots and directing my anchors and reporters in the direction they need to go with the stories they are working on. During the newscast I communicate any camera changes or breaking news that my team needs to know."

Benefits of Her Degree

According to Olsen, the Media Studies department at USF gave her the foundational tools she needed to step into a job in news broadcast. "Being involved with College Week, I learned to write, edit and shoot video for a newscast. These skills provided me with the knowledge I needed to know for other areas I could learn and grow in. Through my time in the Media Department I not only acquired a greater passion for media but also learned it was something I could do and do well."
