Accountant 

Public accountants deal with taxes and employee wages and benefits for their client. Management accountants record and analyze the financial information of their company. This also includes working with the budget, performance evaluation and cost and asset management. 

Actuary

Gathers and analyzes statistics in order to design insurance or pension plans. Uses problem-solving skills and knowledge of current events.

Architect

Designs buildings, such as schools, airport terminals, churches, offices, college campuses, industrial parks and communities. Also responsible for managing, supervising, engineering and interacting with clients and builders.

Banker

Banker is a general term referring to workers who handle money or other assets. The career offers a variety of roles and work settings such as teller, personal adviser or loan officer.

Computer Programmer

Writes, tests and documents computer programs. A senior programmer usually oversees a programmer's work.

Database Manager

Responsible for designing and overseeing a company's database and maintaining its security.

Dentist

Diagnoses, prevents and treats teeth and gum problems. Works with machinery, provides instructions on dental care, administers anesthetics, writes prescriptions and conducts corrective surgery.

Electronic Technician

Applies technical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants and laboratories.

Epidemiologist

Epidemiologists are medical scientists who investigate and describe factors that influence the development of disease, disability, and other health outcomes. They formulate means for prevention and control.

Financial Manager

Oversees the preparation of financial reports, direct investment activities and implement cash-management strategies. As computers are increasingly used to record and organize data, many financial managers are spending more time developing strategies and implementing the long-term goals of their organization.

Insurance Agent

Works with clients in the selection of insurance plans. In sales, may sell plans for a company or several companies. As a broker, may represent a company and be responsible for selecting plans for their clients.

Lawyer

Conducts criminal and civil lawsuits, draws up legal documents, advises clients as to legal rights and practices other phases of law.

Management Consultant

Analyzes and proposes ways to improve an organization's structure, efficiency or profit. Some consultants specialize in a specific industry while others specialize by type of business function, such as human resources or information systems.

Mathematician

Researches theories, principles, and methods of analysis of mathematical forms to aid in problem-solving in science, engineering and other fields.

Math Teacher

Teaches in an elementary or high school setting.

Mechanical Engineer

Researches, develops, designs, manufactures and tests tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.

Medical Record Administrator

Plans, develops, organizes and manages systems in order to gather, analyze, store and retrieve medical documents for health care delivery organizations.

Meteorologist

Studies the atmosphere and prepares and analyzes atmospheric data. Issues weather forecasts and warnings.

Nuclear Engineer

Researches and develops the processes, instruments and systems used to derive benefits from nuclear energy and radiation.

Operations Research Analyst

Uses mathematical models in order to optimize efficiency in resources, such as time, money, people, space, etc.

Optometrist

Examines eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases. Following the exam, an optometrist analyzes the results and designs a treatment plan. Prescribe eyeglasses, contacts and medications.

Pharmacy Assistant

Prepares prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. May maintain files or records and submit reports.

Risk Manager 

Risk managers advise organizations on any potential risks to the profitability or existence of the company. They identify and assess threats, put plans in place if things go wrong and decide how to avoid, reduce or transfer risks.

Sales Manager

Manages sales activities of establishment. Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program. Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and advises dealers, distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.

Statistician

Uses mathematical techniques to analyze and draw conclusions from large amounts of data.

Structural Engineer

Designs, plans and supervises the construction of structures such as building, highways, and transit system. Considers desired function, effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety.
