Nancy Sutton
Assistant Professor, Media Studies
Nancy Sutton started her broadcast television career as an anchor/reporter at KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, after receiving a BA in Radio, Television, and Film from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She worked as a writer/editor for KXAS-TV in Dallas and a long form video and news editor at KHJ-TV in Los Angeles where she was awarded a Best Editor Golden Mic for Southern California. She was also a Chief Editor, Executive Producer for Special Projects, and a video editor for stations in Atlanta and Philadelphia, receiving 6 regional Emmy awards and many nominations during her career.
In 2006 she accepted the position of Media Instructor for the Sioux Falls School District and was instrumental in the development of the Media Arts program at the CTE Academy. She received a Masters in Education in 2009. In 2013, Sutton became a Mass Media and Digital Cinema Instructor at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska.
While teaching, she had the opportunity to produce, direct, and edit the documentary, When Voices Meet, which had its World Premiere in Durban, South Africa and played at 23 film festivals in the US and Canada.
