How to Cancel a Loan

As a student loan borrower, you have the right to cancel a loan disbursement within 14 days of the credit to your account.  If the disbursement is in paper form, you may refuse the disbursement by not endorsing the check.  If your disbursement is in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) form, you must notify in writing the USF Student Accounts Office within 14 days of the credit to your account.  You can choose to cancel all or part of a disbursement.

Print out the Loan Cancellation Form and once you have it completed, mail it or bring it to the Financial Aid Office.  If you have any questions about how to cancel your loan contact the USF Financial Aid Office at finaid@usiouxfalls.edu.
