$16.92M Science Grant Will Again Benefit USF Students

The South Dakota Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (SD BRIN), led by the University of South Dakota and its Sanford School of Medicine, has been awarded a $16.92 million, 5-year continuation grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for student and faculty research in cell biology. University of Sioux Falls is among seven partner institutions in the state whose students will also benefit from the funds.
 
The project offers research opportunities and core scientific facilities for students and faculty. A goal of SD BRIN is developing human resources and research talent in the areas of biomedical sciences and bioinformatics.
 
This grant continues NIH’s long-term support provided to SD BRIN since 2002 that totals nearly $57 million.
