The University of Sioux Falls conferred 386 total degrees on Sunday, May 20 at the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science. The graduate commencement ceremony was held at 10 a.m. and undergraduate ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

This breaks down to 274 undergraduate students and 112 graduate students.

Eleven MBA students celebrated a special milestone as the first-ever 12-month MBA class to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas.

Commencement addresses at both ceremonies were given by USF Professor of Biblical Studies, Dr. John Hiigel. A well-established member of the USF community, Dr. Hiigel will enter his 20th year of service at USF as a professor.

“Because this has been a great year for our university, we thought that having a faculty member share their perspective on behalf of the USF family would be fitting,” said USF Vice President for Academic Affairs Joy Lind. “By asking Dr. Hiigel in particular, we focused on the celebration of faith and learning happening in our academic community.”

The University of Sioux Falls reports that 98 percent of 2017 grads were either employed or attending graduate or professional school within six months of graduation. In addition, students reported 100% placement rates in over three-fourths of majors.
