USF Hosts COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
In partnership with Avera Health, USF is pleased to offer students who are living in its residence halls or working on the USF campus the opportunity to get a COVID-19 vaccine if they wish, based on the State of South Dakota’s vaccine schedule opening up both Groups 1D and 1E.
The clinic will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Mears Library by appointment. The clinic will be staffed by Avera medical personnel. Appointment availability was opened first to students on the USF campus, and then to USF employees.
Participation in the vaccination clinic is 100% voluntary. USF does not require students or employees to be vaccinated, though USF is working to facilitate vaccination access to support public health in the Sioux Falls community and beyond.
USF encourages students and employees to review the following public information or contact physician for more information to determine if vaccination is right for them:
- Other resources Avera recommends reviewing:
Alternative off-campus options also exist for those wishing to be vaccinated.
The Avera Vaccine Clinic on the USF campus has been in collaboration with Dr. Brett Bradfield, USF President, and the following Avera Medical personnel: David Erickson, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Primary Care Physician, Avera Health; Kevin Post, DO, Chief Medical Officer and Primary Care Physician, Avera Medical Group; David Basel, MD, Vice President of Quality and Primary Care Physician, Avera Medical Group; Chad Thury, DO, Medical Director and Primary Care Physician, Avera Medical Group.
USF also routinely offers an annual flu vaccination clinic to its campus community, in which participation is also voluntary.
