USF to host nationally recognized author as part of Writing Week

On Thursday, March 19, the public is invited to attend an engaging reading and musical performance presented by author and musician Nate LeBoutillier. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the USF campus in Salsbury Science Center’s Zbornik Hall.

Nate LeBoutillier was born in Minneapolis in 1975 and started his writing career as a teenage journalist at The Daily Globe in Worthington, Minnesota, in 1994. He studied literature and fiction in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Paris, France, and Mankato, Minnesota, respectively, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing in 2004. He has published short stories and essays, a middle grade fiction novel (Horse Camp, 2012), and upwards of 70 non-fiction and fiction titles for younger readers. LeBoutillier writes, teaches and also works as a singer-songwriter with two albums of original alt-folk music to his credit out of the Mankato area, where he lives with his three children, Violette, Archibald and Gordon.

LeBoutillier’s presentation is among a week-long series of activities on the topic of writing. Students have the opportunity to engage in workshops ranging from journaling to composing a memoir.
