The University of Sioux Falls will host the 101st Annual Meeting of the South Dakota Academy of Science on April 8-9.

According to Dr. George Mwangi, associate professor of chemistry, the Annual Meeting is expected to draw scientists from institutions across the state and is open to individuals who are interested in the promotion of scientific research and teaching in South Dakota.

“The upcoming meeting will include undergraduate and graduate research presentations in poster and oral form,” said Dr. Mwangi. “There will also be three symposiums, with one focused on STEM, which will be dedicated to presentations on the teaching and learning in science, technology, engineering and math in the state of South Dakota.

Dr. Mwangi is the incoming president of the Academy, taking over for Dr. Steve Matzner of Augustana University, who served in 2015.
